Before I started Dahn, several life events combined to create depression and a number of physical challenges. I retired from a 45-year working career, my sister had a major mental break, and my aged mother passed away. Arthritis, a couple of degenerated discs in my back, and soft tissue damage from a car wreck 40 years prior made getting out of bed in the morning very painful. I’d walk bent over from the waist for a few minutes before standing up strait. The Chiropractor and I had standing appointments 10 days apart. Activity always attracted me, but with pain and without a routine to follow inactivity took over, and I lost interest in life. Even thought I didn’t do much, I was tired all the time. The local senior center offered free access to physical fitness machines, but somehow I couldn’t get up and out the door by 10:30 a.m. to drive (not walk) 2 miles and take advantage of those machines.
It’s interesting how my membership came about. Since the story is long, I’ll just say that on 3 different occasions the subject of Dahn Yoga came up. The final was at a Body, Mind, Spirit expo where my girl friend and I signed up for an Energy checkup. Interestingly, we both bought memberships and she went to just 1 class. I am happily still with Dahn 3-1/2 years later. The drive to the Kirkland Center is often an hour each way, but I’m able to get up and be there at least 3 times a week.
Within 2 weeks of beginning Dahn I noticed an amazing increase in my energy level. I painted walls 13’ high from a ladder. I felt alive again. My many women friends asked “What are you doing, Leanne? You’re glowing!” I’d say “It’s Yoga”. There is no Dahn Yoga center near us, but now 5 of those friends are taking some form of yoga because they’ve seen how much Dahn did for me.
On the physical level, I noticed an immediate improvement in my back. I could get out of bed! (I’ve been to see the chiropractor only 5 times in the past 3-1/2 years!) Something, else, my eyesight improved. I went from a 2.50 magnification to a 1.25 magnification. I gained back 1-inch in height I’d lost. Energy filled me up. My body changed. Weighing the same as I had 6 years before, I lost 19-1/2 inches in my arms, thighs, waist and bust. I am wearing clothes I wore 20 lbs. less than I am now.
On an emotional, level traffic has always been a challenge for me. I’d be angry or anxious, frustrated and impatient. I mentioned a 1-hour drive. Well, that drive is only 20 miles, so you can imagine how congested it is. Before, I’d be mad and/or angry. Thanks to Dahn something switched. Now, it just doesn’t bother me. I still move in and out and do my best to find the lane that’s moving, only it isn’t a contest or a personal insult any more. I’m relaxed. It’s just traffic. It hasn’t changed, but I have. A number of personal issues from long ago have resolved themselves, come full circle. Thanks to the various programs Ilchi Lee created at Dahn, I don’t feel guilt or shame for not succeeding in some life choices a long time ago. I carried those failures for years, and now I’m free. That freedom improved my self esteem to the place where I felt good enough to start internet dating. I’m now in a serious relationship with a gentle, kind, thoughtful, funny gentleman.
Meditation calms and centers me. I value the serenity. Dahn practice teaches me that there are many ways to meditate, and the exercises we do in class take me right into a meditative state. It seems that when I start my day with meditation, everything goes better. Little things don’t bother me, and I handle big stuff better. I was a typical Type ‘A’ personality, and now am a Type ‘B’.

Dahn Foundation is hosting a HSP Outreach Instructor’s Training for Dahn members who want to reach out to the community. Anyone who is interested in volunteering in any forms is welcome. It will be at Harbor Steps center, 9am to 6pm. Some members are already reaching out by teaching a class to seniors, juniors, and kids, just the way Ilchi Lee started teaching Dahn Yoga at a small community park more than 20 years ago. The fee is $30, coming with t-shirts and a handbook and the money is a donation to Dahn Foundation, a non-profit organization supported by Dahn Yoga. If you are interested in, let your center instructors know~

Vortex Training at HarborSteps
rainbow8 on Feb 11th 2008
The Vortex Training we had last Friday, Feb 8 and again during the Tao Healer’s Training last Sunday, Feb 10 were a lot of fun and very healing! Master Kim was an inspirational, funny, knowledgeable and amazing trainer and healer! We witnessed and experienced the power of okum and other healing tools. I bought 2 more okum powercards in addition to my collections and finally bought dokaibe that I’ve always wanted to have. The powercards were very timely for me to use for the goal I had set for my 21day Miracle training (meditation part) and dokaibe so beneficial for activating meridian points and sooo very relaxing. It always make me wonder how to use further all these healing tools available at the center, now I have a much more expanded knowledge which I will be able to share in healing others.
Thank you Master Kim for visiting Seattle once again. We look forward to your next training. We enjoyed your trainings very much!

Sunday at Harbor Steps!!
rainbow8 on Jan 28th 2008
We had a blast to start the year off this month at Harbor Steps. Yesterday (January 27th). Healers, pre-healers, pre-sabumnims and myungsanims came for the Tao Fellowship Training led by Master Han. As you know his trainings have always been a very awakening experience! Then we had the YEHA/Phoenix Project training following and DahnMuDo practice afterward with Master Oh.
We also started the YEHA/Phoenix Project Silent Auction. Check out some very interesting, unique items on display at our Harbor Steps center donated by some of the Masters, Myungsas and Healers.
Have a beautiful day with our Winter Wonderland!
Love,
Delia

21-Day Miracle Certificates by January 7th, 2008
rainbow8 on Jan 4th 2008
Dear Harbor Steps members and Dahn practitioners,
How have you been!? HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I am dropping by to share with you about what has been one of the highlights at Dahnyoga centers these days.. As you know the next term for the 21day Miracle training will start on the 7th of January (very soooon) and the deadline to buy your certificates will be by the 7th as you need to type in a code for access to special areas in the website -ilchi.com-
I had my resistance before I joined this currently going on term– you know, things like too busy with the upcoming holidays and work, work, work..no time to log on to the internet..my place needs decluttering.. how am i going to survive with another thing added to my list to do…i can’t think of anything to change…etc..etc..
Guess what, with Master Soo’s coaching (thanks, Master Soo) I signed up for it and nearing now to the end of the 21day. My usual busy schedule hasn’t changed, but because I incorporated a habit/goal which would actually take only less than an hour of my time a day, I am able to look at the same old stuffs of busyness in a much lighter disposition. With the conscious plan of setting one’s goals and putting them into action make so much difference in how to specifically direct one’s focus and energy. If one sets or commits to do something, your brain would actually and fully work to accomplish the goal. One member I admired so much was her discipline to stay away from sugar for 50 days, I found that remarkable!
Other examples are:
-doing 50 push-ups everyday and 150 by the end of 21days
-drinking 8 glasses of water everyday
-no chocolate for 21 days
-become vegetarian for 21 days
-saying only positive things
-go to bed before midnight and wake up early by 6am
-will not drink coffee or go to Starbucks
-quit smoking
-walk the dog everyday
-loose weight
-do sleeping tiger for 10 minutes a day and up to 30minutes by the end of 21day
-be on time with all my appointments
-no watching tv
(anything else you can think of to what you would like to change–quoting from one of the wisest ever lived on Earth,
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Mahatma Ghandi. Dr. Ilchi Lee in this generation is helping us to put this into action by creating the 21day Miracle as it takes about 21 days to break a habit.)
With the 21day Miracle, one can get support from groups online, from others who may also be working on the same goals as you or getting rid of similar unpleasant habits. We also plan on having our own meeting at the center (we will keep you posted on this one).
Please visit Ilchi.com, click on Groups, then type in Harbor Steps, click Harbor Steps and you will see us there, the members who have already joined in. The sharings from everyone, not just from our Harbor Steps group, but also from Kirkland Center and from other groups statewide have been inspiring. The website has so many valuable informations directly from Dr. Ilchi Lee himself.
Also, please visit www.dahnyogawashington.com for more information on what is going on (blogs) about the 21-day Miracle and about our dahn practice in the Washington area and from dahn centers statewide.
For added bonus, we will give you an aura reading with your $21 certificate. Isn’t that a wonderful deal!!!! If you wish to obtain certificates, you may email me (yogamudo@aol.com) or drop by at Harbor Steps center or your local centers by January 7th…Gampsahamnida…
Let’s keep growing and improving ourselves for the year 2008!
The Harbor Steps staffs and I wish you all the best of great health, lots of luck, blessings and prosperity!
Love,
DeliaMSN

Truly a Miracle! 21-Day Training-Sharing
rainbow8 on Jan 2nd 2008
Happy New Year everyone! How were your holidays and 21-Day practice?
So many times I was so tempted to give in to just go right to bed at night without completing the goals I had set. With even more hectic schedule the last few weeks of the year (I am sure you were in the same boat as I did), I felt rather tired and unmotivated to include my 21day Miracle goals to an already fully booked day’s activities for the holiday seasons.
Needless to say, I am still at it with no regrets and will keep pushing more to do my goals everyday with only the few days left. I was feeling at times an alarming release and resurfacing of physical and emotional symptoms from past injuries (some from this present life, others could be perhaps from past lifetimes). I am now feeling much lighter these days and even more sensitive with energy. The challenge and realization is– how to connect with the Source (God, Chunjikiwoon, Higher Self, Universal Force, Cosmic Energy, Ultimate Source, Multiverse, the Light, the Heavens-whatever one would prefer to call it) every moment, especially when in the midst of endless tasks to be done and activities to attend to. To consciously set aside even just a few moments a day to my practice/meditation, even for just that brief moment of tuning out everything else, has been a treasure to connect me to what is ‘real’. I found that the “Essence”, essence is the point of it all.
Let’s keep going with our 21-day Miracle training. Thank you Dr. Ilchi Lee for creating such life-changing Miracle training! www.ilchi.com
I wish you all a Blessed New Year filled with the very essence of continues creation and spiritual growth!
Love and joy,
Delia

21-Day Miracle Training Spreading!
rainbow8 on Jan 2nd 2008
Our 21-Day Miracle Training number of members are expected to grow for the next term in January 2008 at Harbor Steps Center. Please visit our newly formed Harbor Steps group at Ilchi.com to read some of the group’s bulletin who could be working on the same goals as you do. The Kirkland Center group has been very successful in starting us off in the Washington area, thank you for your inspiring stories and energies! Let’s keep rolling!!!
Ask any DahnYoga Center staffs at Harbor Steps or any DahnYoga local centers near you on how to start and participate. You may also inquire from any Dahn Members who are currently doing their 21-Day Miracle to get a feel of what it is like to be a participant, in being with a support group to accomplish one’s goals. This will be a good time and opportunity to participate, as we pursuit with our New Year’s Resolutions. The upcoming term will start soon, on the 7th of January.
Lots of blessings, love, abundance, determination and vitality for 2008!
